Dr.
Sharell Mikesell is the Associate Vice President for the Industry Liaison
Office in the Office for Research for the Ohio State University. Prior to his
current position, he served as the inaugural Executive Director of the Ohio
Polymer Strategy Council. He is a successful senior executive with 30 years
of corporate leadership experience in global research & development and
business operations. His background includes development of a breadth of polymer
and material technologies in diverse positions with major companies, including
GE and Owens-Corning, and with high-growth product and applications innovator
Advanced Elastomer Systems, L.P. , an Exxon-Mobil subsidiary. Dr. Mikesell also
serves as Co-Director of the Center for Multifunctional Polymer
Nanomaterials & Devices (CMPND), Ohio's first state funded
multi-university center in nanotechnology, from 2005-2011.
Montserrat
Capedevila is director of sales, marketing and international relations
at Johns Hopkins Technology Transfer (JHTT), where she and her team created
the first tech transfer app, internationalized JHTT, hosted numerous companies
and partnering events, and created an environment that builds successful academia
-industry partnerships. While at the state of Maryland, Ms. Capdevila also helped
design the Maryland Community of Innovation in the Life Sciences, a virtual
online community of translational researchers among Maryland‘s federal, academic
and private life sciences sectors. Internationally, she lead the international
department of a midsize European biotech company and was involved in the Union
Fenosa- Sultanate of Oman 20 yr LNG joint venture- a project that stimulated
the creation of a sustainable commercial relationship between both countries.
